#646 Yörük Turkman Beaded Bridal Fes from Keles or Surkun area of Turkey; These Karakeçeli (Yörük) head pieces were worn topped with sequin covered scarves; body of the hat is crocheted black wool with loose cotton material behind five elaborate tassels with black and white glass beads and sequins; cloves are added to the white beads with colorful wool felt balls  beaded band attached at the front brim of the hat; top piece are beaded circles over a stiff base; clean muslin cotton lining; 20” circumference; 5” tall; good condition; mid- 2oth c; from the collection of Victoria Rivers who featured this and another fes on page 119 of her book, The Shining Cloth Dress & Adornment that Glitter
