Excellent Pamee- Akha girl’s hat with elaborate diamond shaped ornaments and lines of metal semi-circles across the front; 9 older coins, dyed-red chicken feather tassels, tuffs of what may be dyed gibbon fur (some fur missing leaving only the leather), lots of glass beads hanging to the shoulders; Base is handwoven indigo-dyed cotton; with a section of natural cotton cloth reinforcement on the inside; mid-20th century; collected in Thailand; 19” circumference; 16” length with beads; p 206 The Ahka, Guardian of the Forest; p 214-215 Peoples of the Golden Triangle.
