Antique Purple Silk Unusually-Nosed Creature Chinese Wind Hat. This rare creature is in excellent condition on bright silk with woven borders attached; not sure what animal it represents but its nose is snout-like with sharp teeth; the eyebrows are created by folded paper; The top and back is another interesting combination of applique figures with silk braids likely including a downward bat representing goodness to come and a butterfly for happiness; and finally a tiger like stuffed tail is added to the back; traditional polished blue cotton lining; Han Chinese; c 1900; 19” circumference;
