Chinese Minority Embroidered Wind Hat; Basic winter hat of padded indigo-dyed handwoven cotton with five appliquéd pieces attached. The silk embroidery on the appliqued pieces is in two styles used both by the Miao and Dong ethnic minorities living near each other in SE Guizhou Province; c 1960; fair condition as the embroidered pieces have had a lot of exposure and are faded; 22” circumference.
