Local girls in the Qianxi area of western Guizhou province create beautifully designed baby carriers using the technique of wrapping horsetail in silk threads and attaching to the carrier to create the design elements. This carrier uses yellow and green silk satin applique on red cotton with green coiling silk threads to make the abstract butterfly motif and floral patterns. Some wear on silk satin pieces, but generally in excellent condition.
