Miao Baby Carrier from Danzhai

This exquisite baby carrier is from the Paitau Village,Danzhai County of western Guizhou Province in SW China. The indigo-dyed cotton shining cloth has been beaten with a wooden mallet and coated with ox leather gel. Satin stitched embroidery on red wool with phoenix and floral designs with surrounding applique pieces. Upper area has folded cotton triangles border.
